Vaughn's Southwest Custom Tours

From Phoenix, Arizona, we recommend you take a guided van tour to the Grand Canyon with Southwest Custom Tours.

Southwest Custom Tours picks up passengers at most hotels in Phoenix and Scottsdale at approximately 7:00-8:00am. They will call you the night before your tour to give you the exact time to meet them in the lobby.

The tours are conducted in custom fitted 15 passenger vans that are modified to accommodate 11 passengers in the most safe and comfortable way. Complimentary bottled water will be provided by your guide while you relax and learn the history of and experience the magnificent beauty of Arizona.

The tour heads north to the first rest stop, where you can purchase a cup of hot coffee and a snack before continuing north through the pine forests of Flagstaff and to the Navajo Indian Reservation. Here there will be time for shopping and an early lunch at the historic Cameron Trading Post. This internationally renowned trading post is filled with a wide selection of Southwest art, Native American art, and Southwestern decor.

Next stop is Grand Canyon National Park. You will spend a full three hours of quality time at the South rim of Grand with spectacular views from Desert View and the historic Watch Tower, Grand View Point or Yavapai Point, Mather Point, and the historic El Tovar Hotel at Grand Canyon Village.

There will be a stop for dinner on the return to the Valley before making the way back and returning approximately 8:00-9:00pm.
No tour is the same.  Each trip is customized to the group traveling.

Be sure to take a warm jacket along from November through March.  A light jacket or sweater may be needed September, October, April and May.
